The January 2012 edition is out!
The aim of this Ranking is to promote the Web presence of Business Schools & MBA granting institutions worldwide. From
July 2008, the Ranking Web is published two times (at the end of January & July) per year.
If you are searching for business or executive education, our ranking offers the largest coverage, with about 1,500
institutions all over the World.
Web presence measures the activity and visibility of the institutions and it is a good indicator of impact and prestige. Rank
summarizes the global performance of the Schools, provides information for candidate students and scholars, and reflects the commitment to the
dissemination of knowledge.
Important statement
In the 21st century no MBA granting institution, independently of its tradition, prestige or resources, could ignore the Web. If its web performance is below the expectations, the academic authorities should reconsider their web policy and the candidate students reconsider the supposed excellence of the school.
Further info
For being included in our ranking it is mandatory that the Business School have at least a web
subdomain, like for example wharton.upenn.edu. There are still many institutions not covered in our list.
Please help us providing the URLs (only independent domains or subdomains) of recently changed or new business schools.
As in previous edition the composite index (World Ranking) is computed combining normalized values, the RANKS being published for information purposes
Major changes are the exclusion of large universities not focusing mainly in MBA studies and a new methodology that can be summarised as follows:
- The visibility is obtained from combining external inlinks and referred domains according to Majestic SEO (50%).
- Google is used for obtaning the rest of the indicators: Size, Total number of web pages, excluding the rich files (20%); Rich files, The sum of the following file types: pdf, doc, docx, ppt and pptx (20%) and Scholar: The number of recent papers in Google Scholar corresponding to the 5-year period 2007-2011 (10%).
Autonomy and objectivity
The Ranking is produced the the Cybermetrics Lab (CCHS - CSIC), a public research body, which is independent of any school,
company or newspaper.
